To understand “wellness”, first we need to know “health”.

As defined by WHO, mere absence of disease by physical body cannot be considered as healthy. So approach to healthcare should be holistic practice of wellness at individual level. Thus, wellness emphasize on preventing illness and prolonging life, as opposed to emphasizing and treating diseases physically.

Now, we can define wellness as a holistic approach that balances all entities of our life- Environmental (understanding nature and enaging with nature); Social (positive relationship with community around); Physical (activities that engages body to feel good); Emotional (positive feelings within family and friends); Intellectual or Intuition (activities that enhances creativity and knowledge); and Spiritual (understanding self / god).
